Dear Dudley:

I agree: you and I must do everything possible to stop Governor Ritter from placing a new tax on gun owners.

That's why I'm signing the below petition, and why I will make a generous donation to defeat Governor Ritter's tax on gun owners.

Petition to: Colorado Governor Bill Ritter

Whereas: My Constitutional rights are not dependent upon budgetary shortfalls or fiscal seasons; and

Whereas: Article II Section 13 of the Colorado Constitution reads that my right to keep and bear arms must not be called into question; and

Whereas: charging a fee to impose an unconstitutional gun control is not a legitimate function of Colorado government; and

Whereas: a fee is just another term for a tax, foisted upon one specific class of citizens (gun owners);

Therefore: I urge you to remove this Tax on Gun Owners from your budget proposal, and will use this as a determining factor for my vote in upcoming Governor's race.
