Rocky Mountain Gun Owners Appoints Taylor Rhodes as New Executive Director

Loveland, CO – Rocky Mountain Gun Owners (RMGO), Colorado’s only no-compromise gun-rights organization, announced today that Taylor Rhodes has been tapped as the group’s new Executive Director. Dudley Brown, who has served as the Executive Director since the founding of the group in 1996, will continue as President of the organization. Rhodes will formally assume the executive directorship, effective immediately, July 8, 2020.

“We’re extremely excited that Taylor has taken on this leadership role,” said Dudley Brown. “His extensive knowledge of firearms and gun rights coupled with years of experience working with local, state, and national politics, makes him a great fit for this position. Taylor is a fierce fighter for liberty, and I have complete confidence in the group’s future success under his guidance,” said Brown.

Rhodes has nearly a decade of local, state, and national political experience that includes working for the Republican National Committee, Colorado Republican Party, and managing and operating his political consulting firm.

“I am honored and excited to lead Rocky Mountain Gun Owners,” said Taylor Rhodes. “Over the past twenty-six years, Dudley has built RMGO to be one of the most powerful and influential nonprofit advocacy groups in the country, and I aim to keep that tradition alive. I firmly believe in the work we do to hold our elected officials accountable, and I can promise you I will never shy away from a political fight.”

Rhodes joined RMGO in 2018, where he served as the lobbyist for the organization. He has worked on issues such as repealing the 2013 Mag Ban, fighting against “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation Laws, and he has successfully led efforts to block the 2020 School Shooter Protection Act, Required Reporting of Lost/Stolen Firearms, and Mandatory Firearm Storage Requirements.

Rhodes received his bachelor’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi and is currently enrolled at Liberty University, where he is completing his Master’s in Marketing with a Public Relations Cognate.

Rocky Mountain Gun Owners is a 501(c)(4) organization headquartered in Loveland, Colorado, with a mission to hold politicians accountable and achieve maximum liberty for an individual to defend themselves, their family, and their property without having to ask the government for permission to do so. Since its founding, RMGO has led the fight against anti-gun politicians with the support of 200,000 members and grassroots activists statewide.
